Yeahhhhhhhh so I’m back everyone, this word helped me and quarantine has given me the opportunity to take a step back (I’m someone who’s out fairly often) and ultimately… learn. Hope you’re blessed by this message!

I was as a typical millennial of my generation on YouTube last week. And one of the biggest changes in the last decade for YouTube has been the exponential rise of adverts. Adverts at the end of your video, adverts at the start of the video. The adverts are tailored to what you have watched, googled or in some weird cases, what you say.

I told my mum I wasn't eating because I was fasting and they finna gave me a deliveroo advert

One of these adverts came across my user journey with the now title of this message – the more you know the less you will fear. Yes that was the message I did in church last sunday. Ok the Sunday before that.

Chris Hadfield is a Canadian retired astronaut after a 21-year stint, having also flew for the Royal Air Force. This advert was from a Masterclass session which brings some of the most successful people in the world from basketball to things out of this world 🧑🏿‍🚀

No astronaut launches through space with his fingers crossed ❌🤞🏾. That’s not how we deal with risk.

For those who are in education or are studying. The infamous quote of failing to plan is planning to fail. I feared assignment deadlines. Exams. I went into an exam and I would open the paper and you see a question that just completely baffles you. I do not know the answer. I am now fearful of my results because I do not know how to handle it. To plan is to gain knowledge of what you’re entering into.

In the chapter of Love AKA 1 John Four, in verse eighteen it states

There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

But the bible says to be anxious for nothing in Philippians Four Six (The second part of the verse I am going to come to later).

There are many verses in the bible to show that the more things we know about God the less we will fear. The ultimate ‘masterclass’ is God, and the study books are all in the bible.

The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me?” – Psalm One Hundred and Eighteen Six

How can we know more so that fear is reduced?

“The Lord is my light and my salvation—so why should I be afraid?  The Lord is my fortress, protecting me from danger, so why should I tremble?” – Psalm Twenty-Seven One

BELIEVE. COMMIT. TRUST.

Believe

I often use John 3:16 In whatever I do whether it’s my blog or quiet time. But I always try to link scriptures to it, because through that verse – I was saved. It says that eternal life is given to those WHO believe. Believing breeds a learning mindset. If I believe that the end of my jump I will land safely, if I believe that I will get a good grade. That will push me to desire, to learn how to get there.

📖 Mark Five Thirty-Six – This was Jesus before he brought the girl back to life like Dr Dre needed a doctor, and this was just after he had healed the woman with the issue of blood. We can still see others receive healing and blessings and not believe the same for us.

Your belief cannot come from another’s miracle, but believe in his word. It’s biblical.

Commit

Being a child of God, and being no longer a slave to fear requires commitment. It’s not a one-time thing, and a lack of discipline can be a huge barrier to committing to knowing more about God. If you know you’re a child of God, you just gotta do more than just say it.

It is going to require you to cut off things, it is going to mean you’ll need to endure, whether God is leading you to fast or you’re going through a rough time, especially in Quarantine. We learn through experiences, good and bad. Are we committed to knowing God the more?

Trust

Trust that God will see you through. Now that you believe in his word, you ‘casted’ your cares, you’ve committed, and you’ve even got the I love you Lord t-shirt.

You are going to need to trust that he will see you through this period, and beyond. (another pun intended) That his grace that has been sufficient for you till this morning shall continue to be rod and your staff.

Trust that unfortunately yes, COVID-19 has claimed lives, but that God still has a purpose for you today to live today. Trust that he will make something beautiful out of your degree, job or your relationships.

📖 Psalm Twenty-Three Four

Commit your way to the Lord, Trust also in Him, And He shall bring it to pass. – Psalm Thirty-Seven Five

And these 3 things are ultimately wrapped in prayer. This lockdown has given us the opportunity to reflect, but to also reconnect with God, excuses have been weakened, so let’s make sure fear is weakened too.

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. – Philippians Four Six

Take time to pray for your own spiritual growth, but also that those around you, family, friends far and near will do too. That those around you that don’t know God for themselves will find him in the midst of crisis.
