I’ve been questioning my value in a number of things recently. I’ve probably realised that I’ve reached my activity capacity now with all the ‘extra-curricular’ stuff I’m doing, including this.

When I finished university which was about a year ago now, I figured that I could completely chill. After all I grinded, got a respectable grade. Didn’t last long as I realised I was broke.
Being broke made me richhhhhhhhh
⏩ to now I’m still having to prove my worth, why does a guy with an Afro deserve more? It’s cool because I got God though.
Random thoughts on faith:
- Anyone else deep the irony in that the blood of Jesus washes us clean? Makes us white as snow? Only time I literally wanted to be covered in blood is when I came out of my mummy’s tummy tyvm.
- Why is sexual sin harder to fight against when in a relationship than without?
- If I don’t consistently walk with God then I get caught out, then I’ll be falling all the way downnn
So I’m in this process of ‘de-cluttering’ what I watch, listen to and measuring what actually benefits my wellbeing, and what stimulates my growth.
Physically, mentally and you guessed it. Spiritually.
Then Love Island came along.
Now I’m unashamedly watching this. Yes it’s a reality show, twisted to suit an agenda or type of person who will use these unfortunate series of events as EXCUSES to be trash.
Yasss 'Men are trash' shebi? Your forehead.
However it’s interesting to see how people act when thrown into a small space with mostly strangers or mutual friends and see how does this thing called ‘feelings’ actually equate to.
I can actually relate to a few scenarios because even if we say we’ve never loved someone, you’ve probably had ‘feelings’ towards someone. 👀

What stands out for me is the importance of God in feelings and relationships. The chances of you finding someone in that place is likely but long-term you’re looking at 1% of it even making it to a year. Issa whole different ball game out in the real world.
God will make even the longest distance of relationship stay together. Why? Because he’s in it.
When Curtis says no, he’ll say yes. When Rachel says your time is up in the villa of your life, he says not yet.

I’ve been trying to watch more TEDxTalks, some of them are so powerful. It’s a goal of mine to do be a TED speaker or something similar man that would just be the crem de la creme.
But one talk that struck me was Amma Asante, who spoke on trying or actually not trying to fit in to a movie industry full of those opposite than her. White Males.
Influence society. Don’t let society influence you. Often we give up of being ourselves because it’s not appreciated. It’s tradition. It is what it is.
You’ll never know how amazing you are if you don’t tap into what God thinks of you. The World has no loyalty to uphold you, it doesn’t want to any ways.
I shouldn’t have to pick being British over Ghanaian, or being Ghanaian over British because ultimately I’m a product of both. Both of those cultures reside in me.
I’ve grown up feeling like I’m a foreigner in every country I’m in. That includes Nigeria & England. That I may not entirely fit into one. And that’s alright. They both make me the amazing pengting I am now.

Often Lions especially in movies are used to represent God in some kind of way, I don’t know why. At least that’s how I see it. Narnia is another one that sprung to mind.
Maybe because we call him the Lion of Judah? You know? Saviour and ruler?

Take Mufasa’s influence and stature. When he does die (not even a spoiler it’s just a remake) he speaks to his son by saying ‘remember who you are’.
And that ‘he lives in you’ tune.
What do I decipher from those scenes?
God lives in you. He lives in me, my father and my momma too.

No matter how far you run away from your problems in fear, or no matter how much others think you’re not worthy. They may take your faith in your father as your joke.
Remind yourself who you are. Remind yourself that he because is in you, and you’re a child of God. You can do anything.
Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you? – 2 Cor:13:5
You can run away from God, but he has never ran away from you.
You’re a child of the most high. You access his kingdom because you are a child of a King. Royalty.
